Cris DeMartino has called New Hampshire home since 2001 but has also lived in northern MA and on the Cape. She lives with her new husband Dan and their two dogs. She has two grown daughters and four grandchildren, who she loves spending time with.
Cris has been scrapbooking since 2004 and especially loves the social side of these weekends away. When she's not working full time as an office manager for Allstate Insurance, Cris takes care of the business side of Cool Crops. She's in charge of everything from choosing the location, picking the weekend menu to negotiating the hotel room block. But it doesn't stop there. She is also in charge of making sure the space is set up correctly, seeing to the seating arrangements and the weekends schedule. Cris says that "scrapping at home is not nearly as much fun as scrapping with 50 or more amazing women for a full weekend!!
A Message from Cris…
"Cool Crops began as a way to spend girl time away from my hectic home life. With little kids and commitments, a break is always needed. After many years and more than 100 events our Cool Crops customers have become like family."
Cara Duchnowski has called Clinton, MA home since 1997. She has been married to her husband Dennis since 1990 and they have two grown children, Lindsay and Jarrid. She also has three grandchildren who she loves spending time with.
Cara has been scrapbooking since 2004 and we have seen her talents grow from strips, triangles and stickers, to much more sophisticated pages with mixed media, cut files and stamping. She loves scrapbooking her family’s photos but also enjoys making cards, creating home décor items and designing mini albums.
Known as the creative side of Cool Crops, she designs layouts for each event, buys the prizes and gifts for the crop weekends and makes sure every detail is seen to. Cara says the best part of Cool Crops, “is the friendships that have evolved because of our love of scrapbooking. We started it as a business to fill a void we saw in the industry and ended up with not just customers but an extended family that we are blessed to be surrounded by 7-8 times a year. I hope to continue scrapbooking with these great ladies.”
A Message from Cara....
"I never imagined how rewarding running these Scrapbook Weekends would be. I love that I get to work along side my friend, Cris, who I've known since 1989 and hang out with so many women, who may have started out as customers but are now considered friends. These weekends are just what is needed to recharge my soul and tune up my well being."
